Akatl (Reed) keeps appearing in my sessions lately.
When something shows up this consistently I know it's not a coincidence. I listen.
In the codices, Akatl isn’t soft energy. It’s upright + demanding.
Akatl is the hollow bone that becomes a channel. A support beam that only works if it’s shape is in integrity.
Historically, Akatl was associated with:
– ethical order
– priesthood + governance
– vows, discipline, and restraint
– structures that carry power
It was about responsibility.
Akatl energy asked:
Can you hold power without abusing it?
Can you serve something larger without disappearing yourself?
Can you stay upright when it would be easier to collapse?
Fast-forward to now.
Akatl shows up when people are done being chaotic containers for their own lives.
When “going with the flow” has turned into a lack of focus + vision.
When intuition is strong but structure + discipline is missing.
Akatl asks you to:
– clean up your inner architecture {conditioning}
– tend to your nervous system
– repair your relationship to authority + power {especially internal authority}
– stop outsourcing discernment
– become a clean channel again
So what does it mean that Akatl is showing up collectively right now?
We must ask ourselves if we are living in integrity with our values. Are you showing up for what you say you care about?
Akatl doesn’t want you rigid.
It wants you clear.
Clear boundaries.
Clear ethics.
Clear agreements with yourself.
Clear reasons for why you do what you do.
Because power moves through clarity + distortion creeps in through neglect.
To work with Akatl ask yourself:
Where am I bent out of shape from carrying what isn’t mine?
Where am I avoiding structure because I confuse it with control?
What would it look like to become a better vessel for what I already carry?
I’ll be curious to see how Akatl continues to speak through our work, our bodies + our choices.
More soon,
